Sergio De Larrea, 2025–26 Liga Endesa Best Young Player

Valencia Basket point guard Sergio De Larrea was named the 2025–26 Liga Endesa Azulmarino Best Young Player this morning after winning convincingly in all four voting categories that determine the award (coaches, players, fan vote, and media), achieving the maximum possible score in the first three. He was therefore recognized as the most outstanding player born in 2005 or later who met the competition’s participation requirements.

De Larrea received 99.7% of the available votes, earning 203.4 points out of a possible 204—almost double the 103.8 points collected by the second-placed candidate, Michael Ruzic (Asisa Joventut). The Valencia point guard adds this distinction to his earlier selection as MVP of the Endesa Super Cup and succeeds his teammate Jean Montero, last season’s Best Young Player winner. As a result, Jean and Sergio become the first pair of players from the same team to win the award in consecutive seasons.

With the final game of the Liga Endesa regular season still to be played this afternoon, Sergio De Larrea ranks as Valencia Basket’s third most efficient player, averaging 9.6 points on 40.7% three-point shooting, 3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 3.3 fouls drawn per game, for an average efficiency rating of 12.7 in just over 18 minutes of playing time. He has also demonstrated a tremendous impact on his team’s overall performance, currently ranking third in the Liga Endesa’s plus-minus standings with an average of +7.15.
